EDUCATION:

Post-Graduate Course of Study in Life Care Planning and Advanced Catastrophic Case Management. Completed 160-hour course sponsored by Intelicus (formerly the Rehabilitation Training Institute) and the University of Florida, Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, May 1995.

EXPERIENCE:

• Twenty-Five years of research and experience in Life Care Plan development. Involved in research for texts such as Damages in Tort Actions, A Guide to Rehabilitation and Innovations in Head Injury Rehabilitation. Extensive experience in lecturing and training Case Managers, Rehabilitation Nurses and Rehabilitation Professionals in Life Care Planning and catastrophic injuries..
• Research and preparation of Life Care Plans detailing anticipated costs of care services for catastrophically injured individuals, including spinal cord injury, closed head injury, multiple amputations, brain damage, burns, severe orthopedic injuries, primary pulmonary hypertension, transplantation, and AIDS. Researching Medical Practice Guidelines for each disability in relation to Life Care Planning.
• Analyze and critique Life Care Plans written by other professionals.
• Assessment of vocational handicaps and their impact on vocational development and wage earning capacity related to an individual's pre and post accident earnings.
• Research and develop statistics on current labor trends and salaries throughout the United States and Europe.
• Developed appropriate placement for injured workers, including follow-up counseling to ensure successful continuance in employment. Conducted job analyses to ensure appropriateness to physical abilities.
• Provided training in job seeking skills in a group context to industrially injured workers.

• Member, Board of Directors; Fairview Shores (Long Term Care Facility for Head Injured), Orlando, Florida, 1989-1994.
• Past President/Director of Rehabilitation Resource Exchange, Orlando, Florida. A data base of resource information for Life Care Planning. Research various topics related to Life Care Planning for rehabilitation professionals throughout the United States.

TEACHING:

• Faculty Member – MediPro Seminars/University of Florida (Formerly Intelicus/RTI). A two-year post-graduate training program in medical case management and life care planning affiliated with the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, College of Health Related Professions, University of Florida, 1993 to present.
